The best start for your professional or educational 3D printing adventure
The Creatr'14 is the best value, high quality desktop 3D printer available in the market and the perfect start of your 3D printing adventure.
The Creatr'14 has some exciting new features that make the printer even more reliable and user-friendly. The 2014 features include improved standard software settings for our recommended software Simplify3d. These developments make standard printing easier and faster than ever. If you are in need of a standard, quick print, just use the improve standard software settings in Simplify3d. The software still allows you to customize your settings to perfect your more complex or detailed prints. Read more about the infinite options that make Simplify3d perfect for professional as well as easy printing.
The Creatr'14 is faster than ever, standardly printing at 100mm/s instead of 60mm/s. We also introduce our new bed and bed fixture that will keep your printer calibrated, even when used heavily. Of course we kept all the proven features that made numerous businesses and schools all over the world embrace the printer: optional dual extrusion, the large 12.4 build volume and its quick set up straight from the box.
Back in 2012, the Creatr was a real game-changer in desktop 3D printing. Today, the Creatr'14 still is the most affordable, high quality starting point for professionals and educational institutes, allowing them to discover the incredible value 3D printing can bring to them. Users can count on both professional support from the Leapfrog support team (free with your purchase of the printer) and the well-documented advice of the user community.
The Creatr'14 is an alltime favorite among engineers, schools, architects and medical users, who love the versality of the printer. Engineers use the 3D printer to save tremendous costs and time in making prototypes and in validating their design. The printer offers dual extrusion, allowing them to print with our water soluble, safe support material PVA so they are able to produce professional quality, complex prints. Schools love the ability of the Creatr'14 to work well with both easy and quick standard software settings as well as offering the possibilities to tweak the settings to cater to highly customized needs.
At Leapfrog 3D Printers we strive to make superb quality products with a ‘frogging awesome’ design. The Creatr'14 is built to last: the printer arrives totally assembled at your doorstep and is made out of laser-cut all aluminum parts. This means that the accuracy of the printer is unaffected by temperature changes and does not diminish over time. The Creatr family (including the Creatr HS and Creatr XL) offers the largest build size in desktop 3D printing. Combined with the heated bed that makes prints stick well to the bed during printing, the Creatr'14 allows users to build large prints with no problems.
High quality 3D printing starts with a reliable and accurate 3D printer, consistent and high quality filaments and professional software. That is why we recommend using the Creatr'14 with Simplify3d software and MAXX filaments to ensure the highest quality printing possible. MAXX offers consistent and innovative filaments that are optimized for the Leapfrog 3D printers range. The standard settings in our professional software Simplify3d are optimized to produce the best results with the Creatr' 14 as well as with MAXX filament.
The optional dual extrusion allows you to print with two types of materials at the same time which is crucial in order to print with safe, water soluble support. As you cannot print in mid-air, you will need to print with support structures. Our water soluble PVA support allows users to rinse away the support structures after printing, leaving a clean and high quality print.
For designers, dual extrusion offers the opportunity to print with two colors in one print. Go ahead: mix and match your MAXX filaments!

Leapfrog in the Netherlands has created and shaped a very robust, dual extrusion 3D printer named the Creatr.
The Creatr holds one of the largest 3D printing build volumes with dual extrusion ready to go at purchase.

The Leapfrog Creatr is one of the few 3D printer that can print in two colors. In this practice test we took a closer look at the Leapfrog Creatr and its 3D printing results.

"3D-printing is somehow still a bit of pioneering, but the Leapfrog is a machine that is ready for it. Initially there were some minor calibration issues, but comparing this to other brands this was quite normal. The maintenance is easy. The Leapfrog Creatr has been well designed; the structure is solid, the parts are very accessible for maintenance. There are regular improvements and updates available. This, for me, is a clear indication of the quality of the LeapfrogTM organisation. It’s the combination of the level of professionalism, practicality, focus on design and service which makes the LeapfrogTM team a good supplier. The support is great. You notice that the support is fully knowledgeable and available."
“The Creatr offers fantastic value in its price range for dual extrusion, the heated bed, sturdy case, huge build volume and seamless support. For a novice like me, I’d perhaps prefer a bundled software package but for those who enjoy experimenting the open-source software is far superior.”

"Someone asked: are you able to print an 18 cm high thingy with a max width of 5,5 mm and a max length of 12,5 mm? I did not say no, but feared this print would not stick to the bed. It’s a one-perimeter print, so there’s hardly any contact to the bed. It’s also the highest print we printed so far. Creatr did a great job and produced it!"
"The printer works very well for the price. I have had to do some add-ons and tuning to get it to compete with the professional system at work but I am now happy with the results. You can't tell if the part came off the $2,000 or the $30,000 printer until you try to break the parts. The $2,000 printer parts are harder to break! I do use Simplify 3D to run the printer and added walls to enclose the build area, A heater to keep the build area at 70 to 80 C, cooling fans to all stepper motors, and a cooling fan to cool the ABS right after it is printed. I also have a MakerBot Z18, I like this thing better."
