The Universal Construction Kit for children

“I’m trying to connect this, into here, and then make it like a car, and connect this into there”. Any parent is probably familiar with hearing this when their children are trying to build something. This blog is about a 4 year old boy. He is frustrated trying to build a car using different brands of construction toys using the Free Universal Construction Kit.

The kit offers a free download of 3D printable adapter bricks. It enables inter-operability between a wide range of popular construction toys. Each brick features a male and female connector of two different brands. In this way, it is possible for children to play more creatively with all their different toys.

Items that would normally not interact together – unless one would use duck-tape – are now interacting thanks to 3D printing.
