3D printed theater decor
Mr. Guido Petzold, scenic and light designer, is currently working on the décor for Fidelio. This in an opera by Beethoven which will be playing in the opera house in Bonn, September 2014. The image shows the model of the prison, which will later on be made of steel and mesh. This scale model gives a great impression of what the décor will look like after it is manufactured. It can now already be inspected from all angles, which is important as the audience will be seated in rows surrounding the stage on various levels.
Mr. Petzold printed the model using the Creatr 3D printer. Because it was too large to print as one piece, it is made of separate parts which are and glued together. We are very impressed with this printed décor and therefore reward it with a roll of filament as our 3D print of the week.
